in vocabulary teaching
introduction during the past several decades of years, a practical vocabulary
teaching method had been formed on how to meet the requirement of the aim of
english teaching in high school. in the recent years, the textbooks of junior
high school have been changed, and the focus of them has been shifted. in this
new situation, what shall we do? to follow the old or to accept the new methods?

vocabulary on dealing with pronunciation and spelling on dealing with word’s
meaning and function using visual aids of instruction to teach words standing
for concrete or visible material using situational or translation approach to
teach words with abstract meaning using context-clue to teach students to get
the meanings of some words by themselves teaching and encouraging students to
use dictionary teaching the function of words through examples on dealing with
synonyms, hyponyms, antonyms, homonyms, etc. synonyms hyponyms antonyms homonyms
words with the same spelling but different pronunciation words with the same
pronunciation but different spelling on dealing with the influence of the mother
tongue on helping the students to memorize new words on dealing with repetition
of new words using the connections in pronunciation, form, or meaning using
substitute

my way of teaching vocabulary accords with the demands of english teaching,
and any suggestion that can improve it will be welcomed.
