Introduction

Economic globalization is a kind of historic process to show the mutual penetration, correlative dependence and mutual fusion of economic activities of all countries in the world. It mainly means the globalization trend of technology, merchandise, fund, information, as well as markets (Shigeaki, 2008). Economic globalization is an objective, inevitable trend of the modern market-oriented economy (Keohane and Nye, 2000). The performance of economic globalization includes several aspects. First, economic globalization appears to be financial globalization in the real sense, which is also the core of economic globalization. Second, production globalization is another aspect, making social division of labor carry out in a wider range by dividing and deepening the international division of labor. Finally, trade globalization is a significant performance of economic globalization (Mishkin, 2007).
Nowadays, economic globalization is an important political and economic issue. The influence of economic globalization is increasing constantly in the world. Most scholars think that economic globalization is an inevitable trend. However, other scholars hold opposite views. For example, Juhasz (2004) thinks globalization is not an inevitable process. She thinks it is one set of policy priorities chosen by certain political and economic elites to achieve a centralized economic model.

The main purpose of this paper is to give reasons for and find some evidence of the inevitability of economic globalization. First, the paper will provide a literature review about the historical development of economic globalization and express positive and negative views on economic globalization. Second, the paper will discuss status of economic globalization and provide an analysis. Literature Review
This part of the paper will present a literature review of work related to economic globalization. Some scholars conclude it is an inevitable trend while some oppose it. Both the pros and cons will be discussed. Data collection method and its specific content will be given in the following sections. To the topic of this paper, secondary data collection is the main method undertaken in this paper. Because economic globalization is a theoretical concept, handling research and data collection around the world may be unrealistic.
