Abstract
The Great Gatsby is a famous classical work of art of the American great writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. It is regarded as one of the most mature work in its narrative methods. In this novel, Fitzgerald renovates the traditional narrative methods and point of view, together with its unique plots arrangement and characterization, perfectly untied the form and content from a new angle.
This thesis tends to analyze the narrative merits of the novel. The use of unique point of view, the shift of the multiply points of view, the design of suspense and the use of symbolism, all of these contribute the novel to a higher level and explains its great attraction to the reader.
