A Balance between Reason and Passion------- Interpretation of Marriages in Sense and Sensibility

简奥斯丁(Jane Austen )在她的短暂一生中，共完成了 6部长篇小说，篇篇经典，蜚声海内外。奥斯丁的小说主要讲述了婚姻和爱情风波。她归纳了各种婚姻的样式，并描绘了她心中的理想婚姻的画面。在《理智与情感》中她细致而略带幽默讽刺地描写了她那个时代的中产阶级生活，生动地反映了当时的阶级关系、风俗习惯和社会伦理。小说描绘的是被人们忽视的婚姻和家庭生活中的平凡琐事，但却从中折射出一定的社会生活状况和历史进程，展示了这位十九世纪初的女性作家的女性意识、前卫的婚姻观念和深刻的思想内涵。

Abstract
Jane Austen completed 6 novels during her lifetime. All of these are worldwide famous. The novels mainly focused on marriages and families by defining the main types of marriages and love affairs. Austen described the life of middle class in her time with humor in Sense and Sensibility. The novel displayed vivid pictures of the relationship between different social classes, the customs and social ethnic of that age. All the issues described in the novel are trivial things that were always easily ignored by people. However, by writing about those, Austen showed her feminist awareness and advanced views on marriages and love.
