THE IMPACT OF CORPORATE CULTURE TO CORPORATE INTERNATIONALIZATION: Case Studies based on Philips China and Haier Group Abstract Having achieved an average growth rate of nearly 10 per cent over the past 20 years, China already ranks as one of the world’s largest economies and trading powers. This rapid economic development has strengthened China’s international competitiveness. Many international companies are attracted by the Chinese huge market and attempt to explore the Asian development strategies through the expansion of Chinese market. In addition, more and more Chinese companies, having won their spurs in their domestic market, are starting to explore new horizons through globalization. How should they make the leap from being successful Chinese enterprises to becoming excellent global ones? In this research study using the case study method and focused on two companies. Philips China, one international company originally from Holand, which successful in China market. Haier Goup, a leading Chinese home appliance manufacture, which successful in foreign market. The whole thesis is divided into six chapters: Chapter 1 is the introduction to the whole thesis. Chapter 2 reviews relevant literature and issues surrounding the topic. Chapter 3 addresses the research methods that have been chosen to carry out the study. Chapter 4 analyses and discusses the findings that have been obtained from the research.
