Abstract: This paper is about cultural connotation of words and their translation. Because of the different cultures in the world, we may not understand the explicit meaning of a word in this article , I compare the different cultural connotations of words in English and Chinese. First I analyze the following cases which are often found in translation: non-equivalence; conceptual grouping; cultural background, and association-derivation. Then some methods are put forward such as retaining the original cultural flavor; transference; transliteration; transliteration plus a genetic word; replacing the cultural expressions of the source text with those of the target language; explanation; translating the implied meaning of foreign cultural expressions. Of course there are a lot of other means of translating, if you want to learn them 无忧论文 【http://www.uklunwen.com】well, you should pay more attention to the study.
